Olga Markova, born in Ukraine, lives and works in Rome. From 1988 to 1993 she studied at Vitebsk State Technological University (Belarus), formerly the Vitebsk Light Industry Technological Institute. Specialization: "Artistic engineering design of textile and light industry products" – STYLIST degree.
She works in acrylic on canvas. Her artistic journey has led her through various experimental phases, and in recent years her work has been strongly influenced by neo-expressionism. Her paintings are marked by vibrant imagery, an energetic and emotional style, and a palette saturated with bold, vivid colours.
Intrigued by the possibilities of fluid art, and especially by the dynamic technique of liquid acrylic, she has explored working with pure colour: as the hues intermingle on the canvas, they give rise to ever-changing forms and patterns. Through these fluid forms she expresses her inner feelings, offering a visual record of her emotional state and a reflection of what is happening both in her immediate surroundings and in the wider world.
She is also interested in art therapy and Neurographica, which she sees as ways to reconcile the inner and outer worlds and reach a deeper understanding of herself.
