Gabriela Grandi, smell artist.

Throughout her professional career, she has been driven by a desire to engage people with the social and regenerative value of beauty—as a source of well-being.

She is dedicated to an olfactory project rooted in experimentation and research, which fosters a connection to the Earth—viewed both as a set of roots and as a space for reconnecting with one’s intimate, archetypal self.

Scents serve as her medium of expression—a bridge to others and a tool for narrating inner landscapes, whether individual or collective. Her work transforms storytelling into a tangible place, bringing into existence things that may not yet have a physical form. Through botanical perfumery—utilizing only essential oils and natural carriers like alcohol—she creates olfactory installations, develops bespoke or collective fragrances, and designs and facilitates sensory workshops. Her goal is to help us rediscover the value of our most powerful and ancestral sense: the sense of smell.Founder of Copihue Studio and Copihue Floral School (since 2016): a studio that promotes the shared value of beauty through flowers. The studio develops international projects centered on the sense of wonder, collaborating with world-renowned instructors such as Wagner Kreusch and Frida Kim, and partnering with institutions including the Gardens of Ninfa (Giardini di Ninfa) and the Charterhouse of Trisulti (Certosa di Trisulti)—at times under the aegis of the Italian Ministry of Culture.

Co-founder and Artistic Director of the Floralism Festival (2020–2021). Initiated by a group of female entrepreneurs, this project reimagined a time of crisis as a source of energy, opportunity, and rebirth. Held in the heart of Rome, the three-day festival served as a platform for floral design, exploring the discipline through a contemporary lens. It functioned as a space for reclaiming traditions, fostering renewal, facilitating dialogue and active listening, sharing stories, exchanging ideas, and experimentation. By bringing together local residents, the surrounding community, floral designers, and practitioners from complementary fields, the festival aimed to shift the paradigm of floral design—moving it beyond the common perception of flowers as merely ornamental. The initiative was featured in publications and media outlets such as *La Repubblica*, *Il Messaggero*, *Vanity Fair*, and *Rai International*.
