Data and contact details
Alessio Palma (Rome, 1977) is a sculptor, designer, and resin artisan whose research lies at the intersection of contemporary art, material experimentation, and fine Italian craftsmanship. After graduating in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 2004, Palma embarked on a twenty-year journey focused on studying and shaping synthetic and natural resins. His production has progressively evolved from signature design pieces to a pure form of sculpture where matter intimately dialogues with light. In his works, the transparency and opalescence of resin become the chosen tools to trap images and reflect inner dynamics—a theoretical and formal approach that culminated in his solo exhibition "Dietro il visibile" (Behind the Visible). His research explores archetypal shapes and icons: from the lighting projects of the Hop lamps series to impactful, pop, and nostalgic sculptural works like "Special 50", in which the myth of Italian design is reinterpreted through the translucent filters of contemporary matter.
Active on both the national and international exhibition scene, he has presented his works within major events and trade fairs, notably participating in Paratissima Turin (with the 0-12 Benetton project), the Paratissima Milan Art & Design Fair at the Fabbrica del Vapore, and the recent B-CAD 2026 fair at the Roma Convention Center La Nuvola. Abroad, he has exported his interior design projects to the renowned Miami Design District and was invited by the Consulate General of Italy in Brazil as guest of honor and keynote speaker at the 10th Italian Design Day in Rio Grande do Sul to present his pioneering vision of artistic resin. He lives and works in Rome, where he constantly collaborates with architecture and design studios to redefine space through unique, unrepeatable, and signature surfaces.
