Data and contact details

Guido Bonacci was born in Rome in 1964. He graduated in Humanities, specialising in Archaeology, from the Sapienza University of Rome (1989), and developed his artistic practice through an independent, personal path of research, gradually building a visual language rooted in history, materials and memory — themes already present in his academic background.

His work spans a variety of media: from installation to set design, from costume to the creation of objects, through to experimentation with pop-up books as a three-dimensional art form. Among his most significant works are the solo exhibition "Still Life Live", presented in 2019 as part of the 15th Contemporary Art Day at the Residence of the Italian Ambassador in Sofia (Bulgaria), and the exhibition "Il gioco del mondo nei libri animati di Guido Bonacci" ("The Game of the World in the Animated Books of Guido Bonacci"), hosted in 2024 by the Vallicelliana Library in Rome.

He has taken part in numerous group exhibitions curated by Roberto Lucifero at the Cappella Orsini in Rome, and his work features in several catalogues published by Le Strenne della Lepre Edizioni. Over the years he has worked with exhibition spaces, cultural institutions and figures from the performing arts, designing sets for the "La Tore" Literary Prize and for series of tango, flamenco and poetry performances. His work is documented in bilingual publications and audiovisual.
