Jonathan Hynd is a deeply independent abstract painter who has lived and worked in Rome since 1987. With over 100 exhibitions worldwide, including 15 solo shows, he has sold over a third of his works to public and private collectors internationally.

 

Hynd was the first British artist to receive an honorary degree from Roma Tre University in 2015, joining Italy's list of leading living artists. He has taught at prestigious institutions, including the Rhode Island School of Design Rome Program, considered one of the finest fine arts institutions in the United States. He has also taught at the Temple University Overseas Program in Rome, part of the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.

 

Hynd won First Prize in the 7th Franco Cuomo International Prize for the Arts 2021, held at Palazzo Giustiniano near the Senate of the Republic in Rome.
