Born in Rome, I grew up in the artistic environment of my mother, Gisella Meo, from whom I learned a deep love for materials and artistic supports.
My studies in political sciences and my experience in the field of international solidarity fostered my interest in social issues, while my own perspective shaped the irony and self-awareness through which I observe the world around me. I work within the fields of conceptual art and visual poetry. I use photography and writing as tools for the transfiguration of reality, employing photographic assemblage and collage techniques, with a particular affinity for the poetics of the objet trouvé.
In May 1998, I presented my first work as part of the retrospective exhibition of Gisella Meo at the Museo della Donna of Villa Mazzucchelli (Ciliverghe, Brescia). Subsequently, I participated in the artist’s book exhibition curated by Alba Savoi and presented by Ivana D’Agostino within the thematic program “La città, argini e margini” at Arte in Transito Gallery in Rome, and in the multimedia exhibition “L’infinito è finito?”, curated by Tomaso Binga, Vilma Costantini, Mario Lunetta, and Giuseppe Neri at the Lavatoio Contumaciale – Archivio Menna/Binga, Rome.
From this point, I began a research path exploring the relationship between language and image. Encouraged and supported by Mirella Bentivoglio, I took part in several important initiatives, including, in 2004, the Mostra dei segnalati, curated by the association “La Proposta” and presented by Mirella Bentivoglio at the Museo del Sannio (Benevento), and in 2009 the exhibition “Roma souvenir – la città e il verde – Idee per una collezione”, curated by Patrizia Rufini and presented by Mirella Bentivoglio at the Art Gallery of the Portuguese Institute in Rome.
In June 2007, I inaugurated my first solo exhibition in Rome at the gallery of the cultural center La Cuba d’Oro, directed by Nella Giambarresi, with an introduction by Carmine Mario Muliere.
With the cultural association Stelle Cadenti, between 1999 and 2006 I participated in the annual Contemporary Art Exhibition curated by Mario Palmieri in the caves of the medieval village of Bassano in Teverina (Viterbo), as well as in a series of initiatives dedicated to peace and human rights held at the Forte Prenestino Social Center and the Pintor Hall of Carta magazine.
Between 2015 and 2017, I took part in three editions of Il cadavere squisito, curated by Virginia Zeqireya, and in the group exhibition Let it Paint at Tevere Art Gallery in Rome.
In 2015, I began a dialogue with art critic Giorgio Di Genova, who invited me to participate in several exhibitions curated by him, including Generazioni a confronto (2015, Palazzo Sforza Cesarini, Genzano di Roma), Percorsi d’arte in Italia 2016 (Mitreo di Arte Contemporanea di Corviale, Rome), Mostri e mostruosità (Palazzo Orsini, Bomarzo), and Prospettive del Terzo Millennio (2017, MACA – Museum of Contemporary Art of Acri).
Within the cultural activities of the Artinarte association, I participated in numerous exhibitions between 2015 and 2019, including INSIEME: DONNA and La fragolina d’oro (Palazzo Ruspoli, Nemi), Dialogo nel mondo del Contemporaneo (Forte Sangallo, Nettuno), Art in the Box – the first exhibition of boxed art (Scuderie di Palazzo Ruspoli, Nemi), Mater Mediterranea (Great Mosque of Rome), Ritmi e cromie delle acque curated by Laura Turco Liveri (former Cartiera Latina, Rome), and the exhibition-events Anima-li, Scienza e coscienza – messaggi utili all’umanità, and La diversità del femminile (Mitreo di Arte Contemporanea di Corviale, Rome).
