Franca Bernardi received her art education in the 1960s from the best masters of the Roman avantgarde, thanks to whom she absorbed the pleasure and the sense of “research”. After taking a degree in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, she became a teacher of Artistic Disciplines and then a tenured professor of Painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti, where she taught until 1999. Parallel to the lively teaching experience, she has always pursued her research with painting and installations, which she has more and more identified with the theme of “transparency”. The materials she used in the works of the last decade are plexiglass and PVC which offer in their assembly an incredible chromatic range.
