Data and contact details

Merysse, the stage name of Maria Teresa De Pierro, is a singer-songwriter and cultural entrepreneur who has made music a way of life, a bridge connecting people, and a means of giving voice to what she believes in.

Born in Benevento, Italy, her story began at a very young age, when she experienced the thrill of performing on stage for the first time at just eight years old. That passion never left her, and at sixteen she began translating her inner world into melodies and lyrics, writing her first original songs.

She honed her talent through her studies at Lizard Music Academies in Verona and, driven by her love of singing, pursued advanced training in Disney singing for dubbing in Rome, specialising in vocal performance for animation.

Her music spans different dimensions. She has a distribution agreement with Sony Music Publishing and has built a discography over the years, featuring original songs that reflect her artistic universe.

It is on stage, however, that her energy truly comes to life. From major international events, such as The Extreme Tour in Manchester, where she was the only Italian artist selected, to concerts in Italy and abroad, she brings her music and original songs to audiences across borders. Her live career also includes the Merysse Acoustic Duo, a project with guitarist Michele Bertasi that blends Italian singer-songwriter traditions, contemporary Italian pop, and distinctive interpretations.

Alongside music, she has developed a strong desire to make a difference.

As founder and president of Istinti Artistici APS, she creates artistic projects and events that promote culture and inclusion and combat violence against women. Her work involves collaborations with schools and institutions, extending her cultural activities into institutional settings.

In 2025, this commitment expanded with the founding of Fusioni in Movimento, a Rome-based association bringing together sport, culture, and youth participation.

Her artistic journey has received recognition through several awards, including the Premio Lunezia for songwriting, the International Artist of the Year Award in Brussels, the Premio Italia in 2025 and 2026, and other honours recognising her artistic and cultural work.

In 2024, she chose Rome as her home, a turning point that allowed her to devote herself more consistently to musical training and the development of her artistic and cultural projects.

In 2025, she presented her projects at the European Parliament in Brussels for the first time, as part of initiatives combining music and inclusion.

In 2026, she returned to Brussels to continue her cultural work and develop new projects dedicated to culture, the arts, and inclusion.

From songwriting and vocal training to concerts in Italy and abroad and cultural initiatives, Merysse is building a distinctive path in which music remains at the heart of everything: a form of expression, a means of bringing people together, and an artistic presence continually seeking new opportunities and international stages.
