Data and contact details

Babel APS is a social promotion association founded in Rome in 2020, bringing together expertise in architecture, urban regeneration and social research. It promotes an understanding of space as a place for relationships, participation and shared possibilities, adopting an interdisciplinary approach to design and the exploration of territories.

Its activities include participation in SPAM.03 – Restart!, Rome's Architecture Festival (2021), as part of the Focus Young programme, and in Open House Roma 2023 with the Caring Tower project, also featured in the special section Rigenerare la città (Regenerating the City). These experiences reflect the association's commitment to public dialogue and to exploring connections between architecture, culture and communities.

In 2026, Babel expands its creative and operational horizons with HERscapes, a model that brings together research, art and architecture to develop cultural projects rooted in places, their histories and the relationships that shape them. HERscapes becomes an integral part of the association as its methodological and curatorial core and a dedicated project initiative, opening up new opportunities for research, artistic experimentation and cultural production.

This convergence gives rise to a new exhibition programme and a broader cultural initiative designed to foster dialogue between artists, researchers, professionals and the public through exhibitions, conversations and shared activities. The 2026–2027 programme explores water as a central theme, interpreted through different artistic languages and perspectives. A group exhibition marks the beginning of this journey, followed by a series of exhibitions and events dedicated in turn to the individual practices of the participating artists.
