Data and contact details

Daughter of art, grown up among musicians and painters, Daniela La Venia graduated in 1987 from the Caravillani Art High School in Rome, where she lives and works.

Following her instincts, art became her chosen path, and over the years her professional career and artistic research has expanded into various fields: technical drawing, stained glass, interior decoration, and painting on canvas and other media. She later specialized in the technique of drawing with graphite and charcoal, which she now uses in her more hyperrealistic works. A multifaceted artist, after numerous collaborations with professionals in various artistic fields, in recent years, she has begun to focus on creating her own work, putting herself and her art front and center. A love for detail, for the particular and for elegance in what is portrayed are common characteristics that run through her works, whether in drawing or painting. As a visual artist, her works, ranging from detailed subjects to minimalist elements, emerge either with meticulous attention to detail or in a more concise style, using drawing and painting as her means of expression. Among the artists she admires are Caravaggio, Klimt, and Rothko, artists from different eras and styles who have influenced her aesthetic sensibilities and technical choices.

As a lover of black-and-white photography, she creates works on paper, where the attention to detail and precision required by this technique are essential to expressing her ideas, which she develops here through figurative art. In these works, much of her inspiration is drawn from everyday and familiar scenes linked to personal feelings, addressing themes such as introspection, change, fragility, and the needs we can discern in ourselves and in those around us whom we love, sometimes depicted in a minimalist style, other times enriched by decorative elements such as leaves, a recurring motif in both her drawings and paintings.

Minimalist in concept, through acrylic painting she paints on canvas, reserving color for geometric elements, such as circles, lines, and squares, combined with metallic hues, or for natural elements where the main subject is the leaf, in pursuit of an essential representation even in graphic form. But sometimes, in her artistic vision, minimalism intersects with richly detailed elements, giving rise to compositions in which the artist seeks a sense of harmony and balance among the various elements depicted.

The common thread linking her various works, whether figurative or geometric, drawn or painted, is the study of chiaroscuro, light, and shadow, and the pursuit of sculptural volume, elegance in form and color.

Since 2023, her works have been featured in various group and two-person exhibitions and have been entered in art competitions such as the Alberoandronico National Prize (16th and 18th editions), where the works she submitted were selected on both occasions and she won third place.

For her, art is a means of communication and a fundamental part of life, driven by a constant need to express herself and her artistic vision.
