The D'ARC Foundation is a multifunctional center dedicated to promoting and enhancing contemporary art, hosting a permanent collection of nationally and internationally significant works.
Located in the heart of the Tiburtina area, within a unique setting that merges ancient and industrial archaeology, the Foundation’s headquarters is the result of a major redevelopment project of a 6,000-square-meter area that once housed a concrete artifact factory. The site sits at the base of a tuff wall, beneath which lies an expansive Roman domus.
The collection—born of years of research and acquisitions—offers visitors a rich exhibition journey through 20th and 21st-century art. It includes works from the post-war period, spanning abstract art, kinetic and programmed art, arte povera and postmodernism, to the multifaceted expressions of the new millennium. Among the featured artists are notable figures such as Giulio Turcato, Jannis Kounellis, Alighiero Boetti, Anselm Kiefer, Christo, Joseph Kosuth, Peter Halley, Nanda Vigo, and Bice Lazzari. Among contemporary artists are Paolo Canevari, Vanessa Beecroft, Loris Cecchini, Emma Talbot, Bosco Sodi, Chiara Camoni, Eva Jospin, and Giorgio Andreotta Calò. Emerging talents include Giulia Cenci, Mateusz Choróbsk, Fabrizio Prevedello, Bea Bonafini, and Guillermo García Cruz, to name a few.
Starting in spring 2025, in addition to its permanent collection, the D'ARC Foundation will launch temporary exhibitions, cultural events, artist residencies, and educational workshops—all curated by Giuliana Benassi.
