Toufik Salem is a self-taught visual artist from Algeria, active since 2010 in a dedicated art studio at the Maison de la Culture in his hometown. He works primarily with oil paints on canvas, drawing inspiration from the artistic movements of Impressionism, Classicism, and Romanticism, which are vividly reflected in his work. His artistic journey began as a member of a local art association, through which he participated in numerous national exhibitions and salons. Salem's paintings combine the refined techniques of classical art with the atmospheric light and color of Impressionism, infused with the emotional depth and poetic spirit of Romanticism. Inspired by both Algerian and international landscapes, as well as moments of everyday life, his works are recognized for their rich colors, layered textures, and ability to evoke both thought and feeling. Passionate about artistic exchange, he seeks to share his vision on the international scene and connect with artists from around the world.
For Rome Art Week 2025, he is proud to present his oil on canvas, "Colorado" (100 x 80 cm), a work that exemplifies his expressive technique and thematic focus on the beauty of the natural world. The aim is to contribute an authentic and original voice to the international cultural dialogue promoted by the exhibition "Rue de la Vie."
